1st May 2014Keats Community Organics working with Willow Dene School
Situated next to Keats Community Organics, Willow Dean School caters for children with a wide range of learning disabilities, including Autistic Spectrum Disorder, Severe Learning Difficulties, Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties and complex needs. Keats Community Organics will be working with Willow Dene School to ensure that their students benefit in every way possible from the existence of a new urban farm in the local area.
Hands-on connection with nature can be hugely beneficial to children living with disabilities; plants provide a unique source of stimulation and horticultural activities can improve motor skills, reduce stress, and promote positive social interaction. Together we want to create an alternative and special learning environment for Willow Dene's children, both at the farm and on the school's grounds.
In order to enable this partnership, the school are working to raise and pledge £1000 in aid of Keats Community Organics' crowdfunder. The staff at Willow Dene School are trying to raise this money through in-school fundraising events and donations from parents. We are hoping to raise some £££ through crowdfunder to help them out with this.
Please help Willow Dene School raise their £1000 pledge to Keats' crowdfunder. You can do this by pledging on the reward titled 'Help Willow Dene School Raise £1000'. The reward is priced at £10.00 but please give generously; click on the reward and change the amount you want to pledge in the box at the top of the next page.
If Willow Dene School fail to raise £1000 in this way and through their own initiatives, all crowdfunder pledges on this reward will be put towards hitting the £10,000 final crowdfunder target. But let's help Willow Dene School make their £1000 pledge and ensure that their children gain as much as possible from the farm!
