Aim: Shaving my head to support OneWigOneSmile and The Little Princess Trust, who make real-hair wigs for people experiencing medical hair loss.
I have committed myself to shaving my head to support and raise funds for two amazing charities - OneWigOneSmile and The Little Princess Trust.
It is also my intention to donate the hair that is cut, provided that it meets the appropriate length and condition requirements that would make the best quality wig.
The impact a wig can have on a person's life is immeasurable. It's not just about appearances; it's about restoring confidence, self-esteem, and a sense of normalcy. It's about giving them the strength to face their challenges with a smile. By sponsoring my head shave, you'll be helping to make a real difference in the lives of these incredible individuals.
I will be fundraising from June until January, leading up to my appointment on 17th January 2026 at Bodle Wallace Hair
Please join me during this time by donating, sharing and cheering me on - every bit counts.
- OneWigOneSmile are an incredible organisation that provide wigs for individuals who are missed by the wig services provided to those who have experienced some form of medical hair loss.
- The NHS currently provides free synthetic wigs only to those under 16 or those meeting specific financial criteria. They also acknowledge that these wigs may not be suitable for black or ethnic patients, recommending these individuals seek wigs from specialist suppliers, which are chargeable.
- They believe that suitable wigs should be offered regardless of race, in order for the recipient to feel as natural as possible during a potentially difficult time.
It was massively important to me to support a charity that includes those who do not benefit from the NHS services and that are inclusive of all hair types.
The Little Princess Trust - Link
- The Little Princess Trust provides free real hair wigs to children and young people, up to age 24 years, who have lost their own hair through cancer treatment or other medical conditions.
- Their team works closely with a trusted network of accredited wig fitters to ensure our wig recipients never have to travel far for their wig fitting.
- They know that the children and young people we support may be facing many challenges, so they make the process of requesting a wig as easy and as straightforward as possible.
I am both nervous and excited to be able to support such incredible causes.
