Escape from Albania by sea - 3 km to reach Corfu

Aim
This is our second attempt to swim from Albania to Corfu having been thwarted by Covid and rough weather last year
We completed our swim! .. In 1 hr 45 mins.. the 3 km swim was in fact nearer 5 km due to the strong currents that wanted to take us north. So a huge relief when we made it into the relative calm of San Stefanos bay. A fabulous swim and thankyou all for sponsoring us. It definitely spurred us on!
Julian and I love our swim challenges and having something in the diary to aim towards. Last year we signed up for this but at the last minute Julian got Covid so couldn’t come and then when we arrived in Corfu the weather was very unsettled and the coast guards said the channel was too rough for the crossing. So instead we had an amazing swim along the north west coast of Corfu.
This year however, the challenge is a week earlier and the forecast is looking great.
Think of us at 10 am on Saturday as we try to cross international waters to escape Albania.
All funds raised go towards 4 amazing Marine conservation projects in the area.
