Karmabank Community Kitchen & Food Support

Aim: We are 100% volunteer led but we do require support with the running costs of our Karmabank Community Kitchen and Food Support.
Every Thursday at The Chapel Park Community Centre in St Leonard's On Sea from 1 - 3 pm Karmabank volunteers prepare a hearty Vegetarian lunch for our members - after enjoying sharing food together, everyone takes home a bag of surplus fresh fruit and vegetables and some ambient goods - all supplied by the amazing Fareshare Sussex.
The people benefiting from our project are local residents and new arrivals who are having difficulty affording enough food. They are currently feeling extra pinched due to the rise in bills/cost of living crisis. They are urgently in need of food support.
Our overheads on this project are minimal due to us being volunteer led.
We have our delivered weekly redistributed food costs completely covered until May next year. So, we are looking for funding of our weekly running costs for the next 10 months;
Centre Rent £2,400 (£60 per wk)
Delivery Van from Brighton £2,600 ( £65 per wk)
Fuel for local collections £800 (£20 per wk)
Rice/Bread/Napkins £800 ( £20 per wk)
TOTAL we need to raise is £6,600
East Sussex Community Wellbeing Fund has provided £3,300 of match funding
