Karis Neighbour Scheme works to reduce isolation and help families living on low incomes and other challenges. One of our major activities is running Karis Baby Bank which provides baby essentials for families who are referred to us, including cots, prams, clothes, toys, toiletries, nappies and formula.

0Karis Baby Bank is based in central Birmingham, and provides essentials such as cots, prams, bedding and clothing, toiletries, toys, nappies etc, for families who are referred to us by health or care workers. These families are often in great need with few resources and the Baby Bank is able to support them up until their child is two years old.
We are aiming to raise £3,000 to help enable this work that is providing vital supplies for families this autumn, as cost of living and energy price increases really start to impact our clients.
We are part of Karis Neighbour Scheme - a well established charity that supports people over 50 who are isolated and lonely, and families in need who are on low incomes or facing other challenges. We have a small staff and over 90 volunteers who help to deliver our services across Ladywood, Edgbaston and Harborne. Reducing isolation helps to maintain mental and physical health and the work we do with families often provides a lifeline at a time of great stress.
Our work depends on the generosity of individuals and other funders, as well as our volunteers, and we are extremely grateful to everyone who supports us. By supporting us you are helping us to work with some of the most marginalised and challenged families in Birmingham.
Here are some. words from one of the families we have helped:
"After losing my baby, I was helped with children's clothes and toys, duvet, some equipment, table, toiletries and finally with a good quality mattress for my other child. The Children and Families team also helped us with our moving into the flat later, and later into our actual house, and with some new stuff for the house. In my case, passing through a depression, some new kitchen stuff she offered made my day. Small things change a big day."
Thank you.
