Karim - RPH Portrait

Aim

Raising funds to purchase portrait of RPH caretaker, Karim as an early retirement gift. Goal amount includes price of framing.

My name's Charlie Ratcliffe.  I'm an artist and RPH resident. I've been painting portraits for a while now and I'm most drawn to painting the people who are least likely to commission a portait of themselves. Whilst being a terrible business model, it brings me a lot of joy to paint more humble subjects. I've come to know Karim fairly well over the years and figured he was a strong candidate for a portrait.

Recently finishing the painting, I showed Karim and he loved it. He expressed a desire to display it in his house in France where he plans to move on his retirement in the future.  Unfortunately his position is that the portrait is a luxury expense that he understandably can't justify spending. 

I'd usually sell a portrait like this for around £2,000, but if I could get £1,000 I'd be happy to part with it. I'd very much like Karim to have it and I'm happy to make my own donation towards that.
