Aim

I need funding for legal costs to challenge unfair exclusion from party selection in the Brent Council elections and seek justice lawfully!!

My name is Sunita Hirani. I am a Project Coordinator at Computacenter, where I have worked since 1998. I have a long history of public service and community involvement. Alongside my professional career, I previously volunteered as a Special Constable and later served as a Police Officer, working in frontline policing before returning to project delivery, with the ambition to progress further in my career.

Why I’m Fundraising

Following the Kenton Ward local election held on 7 May 2026, I am seeking urgent specialist legal advice on whether there are grounds to challenge aspects of what occurred during the election period. This includes online material published on polling day that was described by the local authority’s legal team as potentially unlawful election material and capable of interfering with the fairness and integrity of the electoral process.

In parallel, I have been informed by the Metropolitan Police that I am not a named suspect in any alleged criminal activity. Election Fraud has taken place and the person who called the Police and informed the Conservative Party of a false statement did so in order to suspend me from standing. It was malicious and vindictive act. Everything was perfectly timed and the Party would not engage in any communication with me or my Solicitor.

15/04/2026 - Dear Sunita,

Our ref: 01/ROA/26/129627/R

I write to you to offer some clarification on your SAR request.

We conducted searches from 01/01/2025 - 13/04/2026 for any allegation against you and the result of the search was a “ No Trace”.

A no trace result indicates that there are no allegations against you from 01/01/2025 - 13/04/2026.

I hope this assists,

Kind regards, Gian Cuccia

Data Rights Manager, Right of Access, Data Rights, Metropolitan Police Service

I am actively engaging with the police to understand the origins of the fake allegations referred to and to ensure that the position is clarified on the record.

I maintain that the allegations made against me are false and malicious, and I am seeking to establish how they came to be made, reported and circulated. My objective is to clear my name and to ensure that any individuals responsible for making or disseminating unfounded and misleading claims are properly identified through lawful processes.

Why This Is Urgent

Election petitions are strictly time‑limited. Official guidance states that a petition must normally be presented within 21 calendar days of the election. Because of this deadline, I need to secure specialist electoral law advice and representation urgently.

Support and Approach

I am being supported by:

  • A qualified Solicitor & Barrister providing initial legal advice
  • A small group of trusted supporters helping organise documents, timelines and evidence responsibly and transparently

My aim is straightforward: to pursue independent legal scrutiny where justified, and to ensure concerns about the election process are addressed through lawful and proper channels. This is about accountability, integrity and fairness in local democracy.

I have experienced persistent and ongoing cyberbullying on social media, including anonymous posts and coordinated online activity intended to intimidate, discredit and undermine me. Although these attacks have been made anonymously, I am aware of the identities of those I believe to be responsible and have retained evidence of this activity.

As an Asian British woman engaged in public life, I believe this conduct is particularly concerning. The abuse and misinformation were directed at me during an election period and originated from individuals connected to political campaigns and candidates, placing me in a uniquely vulnerable position.

The online harassment has included the repetition and amplification of unsubstantiated allegations, shared anonymously across multiple platforms and groups. This conduct went beyond legitimate political debate and, in my view, amounted to a targeted effort to damage my reputation, cause distress, and interfere with my ability to participate fairly and safely in the democratic process.

This pattern of behaviour has had a significant personal and professional impact on me. I have documented and preserved all relevant evidence and have reported these matters through the appropriate lawful channels.

How the Funds Will Be Used

All funds raised will be used solely for legitimate legal and case‑related costs, including:

  • Specialist advice from an election law solicitor and, if required, counsel’s opinion
  • Preparation and review of evidence bundles
  • Drafting, issuing and serving formal legal documents
  • Court‑related and administrative fees
  • Any necessary expert support, including assistance with digital evidence

I will provide regular updates to supporters and remain transparent about progress. Where possible, funds may be routed directly to the legal team for accountability (e.g. via platforms such as CrowdJustice).

Surplus Funds

Any surplus funds remaining after the conclusion of the legal process will be donated to St Luke’s Hospice, a charity that is very close to my heart and has provided invaluable care and support to families during the most difficult times.

A Note on Responsibility

This fundraiser supports access to legal advice and due process only. It does not assert that any individual is guilty of wrongdoing. I will continue to act responsibly and lawfully in all public communications while matters are under review.

Thank you so much to everyone who has donated so far. Your support truly means more than words can express. Every contribution helps me pursue this matter responsibly and with dignity. I am incredibly humble and grateful.

Legal dispute

This project aims to raise funds to resolve a claim, or other type of dispute.
