Just Keep Swimming - we are raising funds to help keep everyone swimming through 2021. Help us meet our £10000 target.
City of Cambridge Swimming Club is a community club that provides aquatic activities for a huge range of ages and abilities, giving opportunities for fitness, competition and fun.
The club is proud to have over 300 members ranging from Olympic Trial and National qualifiers, Para swimmers, a Water Polo team, Masters swimmers and an Academy section. The latter allows swimmers to transition from learn to swim programmes into a club environment providing an opportunity to carry on their development and build up their skills and confidence in the water.
The benefits of swimming include improved physical and mental health, whilst providing the perfect opportunity to meet new people and create incredible friendships for life.
How COVID-19 is affecting City of Cambridge Swimming Club:
During the first lockdown we reduced our membership fees by 75% to help out our members. We also lost a valuable revenue stream from our open meets that usually happen in the Spring, Summer and Autumn times. Since the first lockdown we have been closed in November and again now in the New Year, although no one knows yet, it is unlikely that we will be running our Open Meets in 2021.
Not only have we lost membership fees and income from open meets we have incurred additional costs as Covid restrictions mean fewer people can swim at any one time and there have been additional costs to the club to make sure we provide the safest environment possible.
By fundraising we hope to go someway to plug losses and keep everyone swimming in 2021. We want all our swimmers to continue in the sport they love and to be able to provide a high-standard and quality of training and support for all our squads.
How Crowd Funding works? We have set a target of £10,000 to be raised over 4 weeks. So please share our page far and wide on all your social media - we need our 'crowd' to be huge. Even the smallest of donation is very much welcomed.
The exciting bit we have applied to Sport England who have linked with Crowdfunder. Sport England will contribute 40% of our target as long as we reach our target. So we need to raise £6,000 and Sport England will match that with another £4,000.
Have a look at our great rewards, (there are images of the swim hats, Parkas and family wall art at the bottom of this page) and please pledge now!!!
Keeping Fit Out of the Water:

Since March 2020 the club has been pulling together to keep fit and active whilst we have been unable to swim.
There have been running and cycling events as well as three time weekly 'Live at 5' strength and conditioning via Zoom.
As we are again in our third lockdown we continue to be motivated to keep fit and active during the colder months.

As well as keeping physically fit we have been keeping mentally alert with regular club wide quizzes and flexing our baking muscles with our 'cook along with Gracie' events.

We have lots of great rewards as part of our fund raising including shopping rewards with John Lewis and Gaming vouchers as well as some fabulous sporting memorabilia in our raffle - including Adam Peaty Signed Photographs, Rio Training tops signed by current Team GB swimmers, a £100 Amazon voucher and a signed Cambridge United shirt - we would really appreciate your support so click on a reward or two, share with your friends and family and help us to reach our target! Thank you.
