Aim

To improve the facilities so that we can cope with demand of a women’s and girls team and allow everyone to enjoy the club and its facilitie

Who are we?

Nawton Grange Cricket Club, is a community-oriented cricket club, offering inclusive cricket and social opportunities for all ages and skill levels. From our young All-Star & Dynamos from 4 - 11 years old to competitive play across North Yorkshire and Ryedale for our men & women, we aim to foster participation in cricket, guided by a welcoming and supportive atmosphere. We also host regular representative matches form district through to county teams.

Why are we crowdfunding?

We are launching a new girls and women's team, but we need to have an improved facility and increase in match and practice facilities for that to happen. Our ground usage on increasing in demand year on year and we need to develop the options for match play and practice. We feel that a new artificial match pitch will allow extra fixtures and practice facilities.

We are also trying to gain extra funding through Sport England movement fund by allowing more opportunities for more people to be active and engaged in healthy lifestyles

How we’ll spend the money raised

We plan to install a match ready artificial surface to allow more usage of the ground, saving time and reducing the impact on the current pitches. Alongside this match play the pitch can be used for practice with a roll on mobile net surface. A Bowling machine to improve practice facilities also is part of the plan.

How it will be used and by who?

The artificial wicket will be used throughout the season by all our senior and junior members. Matches and training sessions take place at the club's main ground, almost every day of the week throughout the summer (weather permitting). The artificial pitch will play a key part in reducing the wear and tear on the grass pitches throughout the season.

We are looking to open a women and girls section allowing female participation to match that of male participation welcoming women and girls into the club to have an equal opportunity for participation and practice.

The club is diverse, inclusive and community orientated – and our dedicated team of volunteers and members always go the extra mile.
