They say charity begins at home — and for us, that couldn't be more true.
Our very dear friend, one of those that are genuinely like family: - Jackie is facing an unimaginable challenge, she has stage four cancer — it’s treatable, but sadly, it’s incurable. Her ongoing treatment has come with a host of debilitating side effects that make daily life incredibly tough. Yet through it all, she remains one of the most positive, inspiring people we know — facing each day, each setback, and each round of treatment with a smile and a quiet strength that humbles everyone around her.
She would never ask for help, but we know how much the emotional, physical, and financial toll can weigh on someone — even the strongest. And that’s where this idea began.
I have always wanted to do a tandem skydive and when I mentioned to my son I was thinking about doing one to try raise some fun funds for 'auntie' Jackie he immediately said he wanted to do it too! So we are now doing it together for something — and someone — truly meaningful!
So, we’re taking to the skies for Jackie — to raise funds that will hopefully allow her to enjoy moments of peace, comfort, and joy. Whether it's a weekend away, something on her bucket list, or just a break from the relentless routine of treatment and recovery, we want to give her the space to breathe, laugh, and make memories.
We also know Jackie — she’s proud, she’s private, and she’ll be a bit mortified by all this attention. That’s why a percentage of everything raised will be donated to a cancer charity of her choice, https://melanomafocus.org because giving back is who she is.
Most of all, this is about love. About community. About showing Jackie that she’s not walking this path alone.
