Aim

Move Jules of the Earth on from a small to a medium sized business to enable her to provide natural skincare products to everyone in the UK.

What is Jules of the Earth?

Jules of the Earth is a company based in Roos, East Yorkshire that makes natural skincare and pet care products. It is run by Jules, who makes all of the products herself and has worked tirelessly for the past four years to help JOTE to grow. Now she needs your help! JOTE has a loyal following of customers and we really want to build on this and bring Jules of the Earth to the masses. We are currently working on updating the website and adding a shopping cart to make it more user friendly.

The aim of this campaign is to enable Jules to buy equipment and supplies to help her move on to the next step. Reaching the £10,000 target will help her by funding everything she needs to fulfill larger orders and more stockists. Reaching the £20,000 stretch target will help her to employ local people, register for the Made in Yorkshire and Vegan Society marks and continue to support other local businesses.

Jules has spent the past four years putting back every penny earned into the business as well as investing her own money when required, but now she needs a bigger injection of cash to grow JOTE into the business it is capable of becoming.

About the project

Jules set up Jules of the Earth (JOTE) in 2011 and has been working hard to help the business grow. She started out by making creams and soaps for friends and family as a hobby and then moved on to selling at craft fairs and markets and now has reached the next stage of supplying local businesses and has even had enquiries from larger companies. She has been working from a room in her house which she has converted into a lab up to this point.

In order for Jules to take the next step, she needs to rent a workshop and buy larger equipment as well as supplies which will help her to fulfill her orders at a faster pace. This will allow her to become more efficient and will also allow her to approach a greater number of potential stockists. 

Jules is hoping to be able to employ a number of local people as sales reps and administrative staff in the near future and would also like to pay the people who have been working tirelessly behind the scenes without any financial rewards. 

Jules very much believes in supporting local people and she is able to do this through offering her products to small businesses on a commission rather than a wholesale basis and this is something that she will continue doing long into the future.

Through your support, we will be able to nurture this business and guide it towards becoming a large, successful Yorkshire-based enterprise. Jules is more than willing to put in the hard work required and have no doubt that you will see your donation put to work as soon as it is received.

What your donations will be used for.

The funding will enable Jules to do the following:

• Secure a workshop for 12 months.
• Purchase a bottle filling machine to increase productivity.
• Obtain a cream making machine.
• Buy a distiller to help with developing new products.
• Stock up on bottles, lotion pumps, lids and ingredients. 
• Challenge test products to obtain an accurate shelf-life.
• Software to help maintain accurate records and ensure that all current regulations are adhered to.
• Pay people for the work that they have done to help her get this far.
