To grow Jude and the Book Factory and make it more accessible, supporting projects and causes inline with what Jude held close to his heart.
Jude was diagnosed with High Risk Neuroblastoma the day before his third birthday in 2021. Jude went through over two years of treatment and unfortunately a few days after starting a new school year he became unwell at school. At this point it was found that Jude’s cancer had progressed and there was no more that could be done for Jude. A few days later he started end of life treatment and he defied all odds by living for a further 18 days.

Jude’s life may have been short but it was a lived one. He loved the creative arts. He loved dance and theatre. He thrived outdoors. He enjoyed spending time with his friends and family.

In the months before his death Jude started ‘Jude and the Book Factory’. He would take his own, once loved, books and hide them for other children to find. He inspired many more children and their families to want to do the same so he came up with the idea of having ‘frends’. There are now over 200 children who are friends and are continuing the legacy of Jude. We have received over 400 donations of new books that are to be distributed to children going through cancer treatment and their families.

Donations received on this page, in memory of Jude, will help us to grow ‘Jude and the Book Factory’ and make it more accessible. We want to be able to support causes and projects inline with Jude’s own interests and what he held close to his heart.
