Wadebridge Town Council is working hard to raise the funding needed to create an exciting new, fully inclusive play area.
Help us create a place where every child can play
Wadebridge Town Council has an exciting ambition: to create a fully inclusive play area at Jubilee Fields, designed so that children and young people of all ages and abilities can play, explore and have fun together.
We believe every child should have the opportunity to enjoy their local play park. For some children and families, however, traditional play areas can present barriers. Our aim is to change that.
The new play area will be designed with accessibility and inclusion at its heart, incorporating features such as wheelchair-accessible play equipment, inclusive swings, sensory and tactile activities, accessible pathways, communication boards and quieter, low-stimulation spaces.
Importantly, this isn't simply about providing individual pieces of accessible equipment. We want to create a space where disabled and non-disabled children can play alongside one another, where siblings can enjoy the same playground together and where parents and carers know their children are welcomed and included.
The project will be located at Jubilee Fields, alongside the Changing Places facility and close to accessible parking, helping us create a genuinely welcoming destination for families.
Shaped by our community
This project has been developed with the people who will use it.
We have listened to local children, parents, carers, schools, families and professionals who work with children with additional needs. Their experiences and ideas are helping us shape a play area that responds to what our community actually needs.
Now we need your help to turn those plans into reality.
Every donation makes a difference
Creating a truly inclusive play area requires specialist equipment, accessible surfacing and thoughtful design, and this comes at a significant cost.
That's why we're asking our community, local businesses and everyone who shares our belief in play without barriers to support the project.
Whether you can give £5, £10, £50 or more, every donation will take us another step towards making this vision a reality.
Businesses, organisations and community groups are also warmly invited to support the campaign. Together, we have an opportunity to create something very special for Wadebridge and the wider community.
Help us make play inclusive for everyone
Imagine a playground where a child doesn't have to sit at the side and watch.
Where wheelchair users can join their friends.
Where children who find busy environments overwhelming have somewhere they feel comfortable.
Where brothers and sisters with different needs can simply play together.
That's what we want to create.
Please donate whatever you can and share our Crowdfunder with your friends, family and colleagues.
Together, we can build a play area where every child belongs and every child can play.
