Aim

We aim to create growth as we strengthen our work with our producer partners and build foundations for the next 10 years of fair trading.

As a fair trade business, our focus is on working with our producer partners to provide market access. Over the last 4 years, JTS purchases from producers have grown by over 50%. We are now seeking your support to increase this further. We aim to grow our sales by another 50% by 2025 to enable the producer groups to continue to make a real and lasting positive difference in their local communities as they struggle with the challenges of climate change on top of everything else.

The money we raise will be used in four ways:

  • product development - we have been working with our producer partners in Africa on possible range extensions and we are keen to bring some new products to market. This involves lab testing, label and packaging development, marketing and small trial runs. 
  • investment in our ecommerce capability - we are seeing a massive increase in the traffic to our online shop and need to invest in this technology to better serve these new customers and attract more to our shop
  • "meet the buyer" events -  we are seeking new listings for our award winning products and after attending a "meet the buyer" speed dating type event in January 2023, we are keen to extend our engagement with this sort of event to showcase our products and interest buyers from a wide range of outlets. 
  • food donations - we have built strong links with FareShare and other groups working with people in food poverty in the UK and would like to strengthen our work in this area, recognising the growing need. In light of the closure of Traidcraft, there are several lines where we have considerable excess stock in the short term and we would love to avoid waste and support people who are struggling here in UK.
