Aim

I love working as a part of a team and I'm always up for a challenge!

Cancer has affected my family personally after my mum was diagnosed with breast cancer when I was younger. Thankfully, she pulled through, but it’s something that has always stayed with me and made me appreciate just how important support can be for both patients and their families during difficult times.

Years later, while studying architecture at university, I came across the Maggie's Centre Manchester, designed by Thomas Heatherwick and Heatherwick Studio. I used it as a case study during my studies and it even inspired parts of my final year project. At the time, I admired the idea of architecture being used to genuinely help people through some of the hardest moments in life. Looking back now, it feels even more meaningful knowing my own family experienced the kind of journey Maggie’s Centres exist to support.

I’m taking part in this challenge with my company, UNOX, as part of one of two teams of four. It’ll push me out of my comfort zone physically and mentally, but I’m excited to take it on as part of a team while raising money for a cause that means a lot to me personally.

I love keeping active and being outdoors, so taking on this challenge in such an incredible setting while supporting Maggie’s Centres felt like an opportunity I couldn’t pass up. Any donation, big or small, genuinely means a lot and helps them continue the amazing support they provide to people and families affected by cancer.
