I will be cycling 140km in my Poole Town go-kart to raise money for my favourite football club, who are really struggling right now.
by Josh Faramus in Poole, England, United Kingdom
Since 2016 I have been a massive fan of Poole Town FC. I bring my drum to every Poole Town football match I can, I write chants for the fans to sing along with, and I have decorated my bedroom in the club’s colours. As you can see in the video, I have also decorated a go-kart in Poole Town’s red and white colours, and I sent the pictures in to the chairman, Chris Reeves, asking how I could help the club.
What will I be doing?
With the support of Poole Town, I will now be doing a 5 day challenge, cycling 140km in my Poole Town go-kart, to represent Poole Town FC turning 140 years old this year. From 20th – 24th July I will be doing 70 laps every day of the Winton Recreational Ground track, which means a total of a massive 350 laps!
Why Poole Town?
Poole Town runs 35 youth teams and a Kids Initiative, which gives local disadvantaged children access to sport and equipment. After lots of their matches were cancelled last season because of the weather and now the impact of Coronavirus, the club has had some difficult times. This club means so much to me and to many people who live here, and I just don't want to lose it.
Poole Town have also said that they would like to give back to the community, and so they will be offering discounted entry next season for Poole and Dorset NHS staff, members of the armed forces and veterans on production of a valid ID.
Please help to support me in this challenge and help a cause that is really important to me. Follow my training updates on my Facebook Page (Poole Town Drummer Josh) and Poole Town FC's social media pages.
