Despite his mainstream career only spanning four years, Hendrix is regarded as one of the most influential electric guitarists in the history of music, often named as the greatest in popular music. During his lifetime, Hendrix was awarded Billboard's 'Artist of the Year,' Rolling Stone's 'Performer of the Year,' and Disc & Music Echo's 'World Top Musician.' Posthumously, Jimi continues to be recognized for his global impact on music including being declared 'World's Greatest Guitarist' by Rolling Stone, awarded the Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award and was inducted into both the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame and UK Music Hall Of Fame.
