To enhance the outside areas of our school to create more opportunities for learning, and for wildlife to thrive.
WE NEED YOUR HELP TO ENHANCE THE OUTDOOR SPACE AT JESSOP!
Jessop Primary School is an Outstanding School in Lambeth, London. It is a school that we love, because it puts children are the heart of everything it does. The teachers work tirelessly to provide the children with a happy and safe place to play, learn and be their best selves, serving a community where deprivation is high and needs are complex.
Like all schools, it suffers from a lack of funding. Year after year, budgets have been cut and resources have been lessened.
This is where we - YOU - can help!
Friends of Jessop are working closely alongside the school, and the charity Father Nature to improve the existing space and structures of the main playground, introducing more plants and opportunities for wildlife and wildlife enjoyment and exploration of the natural world.
What will we do with the money you donate?
- create an outdoor classroom for children to learn amongst nature
- create a sensory woodland walk, which will serve as a quieter spot for children to relax at playtime
- create a herb garden and mini wild flower meadow
- create a space for gardening club to grow fruits and vegetables
- repair, renew and replant the existing flower beds with hardy, native species
Can you lend a helping hand on one of our community days?
Friends of Jessop, the staff at Jessop and Father Nature, would also love to bring our community together to help make this project a reality!
Digging, painting, sawing, drilling, planting, tea drinking, guitar playing (to entertain children who are also very welcome!)… all skills are welcomed and much appreciated at our community days!
