Following our preview and winning THE CREATIVE ARTS AWARD at THE PROUD SCOTLAND AWARDS in 2025 - help us take JESSIES on tour in 2026
This new comedy play by Grant F Kidd and James T Smith follows the three drag queens (The Jessies) and the bar staff of the infamous Jessie's Bar in Scotland during key moments in their lives between 1980 and 1995.
Join them as they laugh, cry, reminisce and gossip whilst discovering the true meaning of community and chosen family.

We are currently planning to take the show on tour in 2026 but need your help .
Your support will help with tour costs including marketing expenses , travel and accommodation costs , set , costumes , cast and crew wages , PRS fees and pre production costs .
Ever Wondered Where Your Ticket Money Goes and why productions like JESSIES need to crowdfund ?
Producing a show like JESSIES is a major undertaking, and before we even sell a single ticket, our estimated pre-production and production costs total around £16,500.
This includes everything needed to bring the show to life:
- Marketing (posters, flyers, digital ads, and social media)
- Rehearsal space and associated costs
- Fair wages for our talented cast and dedicated crew
- Transport for the set, cast, and crew
- Accommodation and meals during the run
- Costumes, makeup, wigs, and set design
We aim to ensure everyone involved is treated fairly and that every aspect of the production meets a high standard — both creatively and ethically.
So where does your ticket money go?
Each ticket sold breaks down approximately like this:
- 20% goes to VAT (the taxman)
- Around 4% goes to PRS (for the music that’s heard by the audience but not the characters)
- 20–40% goes to the venue to cover their operating costs and share
The remainder helps us cover the production expenses listed above. Every ticket purchased directly supports independent theatre and the people working hard behind the scenes to make JESSIES a meaningful and memorable experience.
