We are aiming to raise money to support the making of our honours degree film, that will launch us into our career.
About Us
Gnosis Films is a production company founded by Robyn Boyd (she/her) and Rey Breen (they/them). They have been collaborating throughout their university career on many film projects, 'Curtains' (2019), 'Loose Stitches' (2019), and most recently their short documentary 'Play-Time' (2021) that has been accepted into Royal Television Society Student Awards this coming June.
Jellyfish is a project that is two years in the making. It is a project that hits close to home to us personally in different ways. By funding this project, it would greatly impact the quality of our film and bring our ideas to life.
Where Funds Will Go
All the proceeds that we raise will go straight into our production costs - to paying actors fairly for their time, accommodating travel and catering costs for cast and crew, props, set design and additional kit hire.
Film Description
Jellyfish is an unconventional coming of age short film that encapsulates the experience of a young adult facing adversity surrounding their gender identity.
The film follows Cal, a childish and egocentric young adult who uses toxic masculinity as a way of overcompensating for the fact that he doesn’t know who he is. After wearing female clothes as a joke, he unexpectedly begins to question his identity, realising that he is not a man but also not a woman – something he has never considered beforehand.
An LGBTQ+ Short Film about being Non-binary.
This project successfully funded on 28th February 2022
