Aim: James 'Jamo' Taylor needs to raise funds to get to the 2024 Deaf Football Euros in Turkey this summer. Can you help him get there?!
We are the Family & Friends of Wales Deaf Football International, James Taylor!
As a young lad, James Taylor was not unlike most boys in Wales. He dreamt of donning the red Dragon and playing for his Country in the Beautiful Game of Football! But unlike his pals and team-mates, James was profoundly deaf in one ear. Undeterred by this, James went on to win an apprenticeship and play for Swansea City Youth.
Later in life, James went on to play Welsh Premiership Football and raise a wonderful Family with his Wife, Sarah. Then at the ripe age of 44 he was gifted with an opportunity to fulfil his life-long dream, when Wales Deaf Football was formed. Having successfully qualified to play and selected for his first cap against Scotland in 2023. James repaid the faith the coaches and selectors had in him by scoring the first goal of a 2-0 win with his first touch of the ball.
Now in 2024, with the Welsh squad having qualified to play at the Deaf Football Euros in Turkey. James has been set a new goal of raising the funds required to get there!
James has since joined the coaching staff on the Wales Deaf FA and will be helping the next generation of players represent their Country in the sport they love!
James is the epitome of that Never-Say-Die attitude and is an inspiration to us all! Now let's all get behind him and dig deep to show our support!
The funds raised will cover the cost of travel, accommodation, food and drink expenses for the duration of James stay at the 2024 Deaf Football Euros in Turkey.
James' story is a lesson to us to never give up on our dreams!
