James4Nationwide Campaign Fund

Aim

The Board has the advantage. Nationwide Members have each other. Help fund outreach with a £5 donation to the James4Nationwide campaign.

I'm James Sherwin-Smith, a Nationwide Member and the first Member Nominated Candidate in over 20 years to secure a place on the ballot for Election to the Board of Directors of Nationwide Building Society.

My campaign is about strengthening Member representation, accountability and transparency at the world's largest building society. Nationwide is owned by its Members, yet many are unaware that the Society's "Quick Vote" system effectively directs votes in line with Board recommendations, making it harder for independent candidates to compete on a level playing field.

This campaign is powered entirely by Members and volunteers. The funds raised will be used to reach Nationwide Members through digital advertising, campaign materials and voter education before ballots are cast. Our goal is simple: ensure Members understand their voting options and can make an informed choice about the future governance of their building society.

Every contribution helps us reach more Members and promote a stronger Member voice at Nationwide.
