Our country is in desperate need of change. Whether it's the crisis in the NHS, crumbling schools, sewage in our seas and rivers or even more. I'm campaigning to deliver change for our communities and country.
With your help, I want to raise £10,000 to help us win the General Election which is now only days away.
I am fundraising because elections are expensive. The Conservatives have deep pockets with the help of their multi-millionaire donors. We can’t match that - but with your help, we can raise enough money to win! That is why I am launching my election fund now so we can scale up our campaign and keep up the pressure all the way to success on polling day.
Lewes Constituency is a beautiful and vibrant place – from our coastal towns of Seaford and Newhaven, Polegate and Willingdon, our historic coastline and county Town of Lewes and our wonderful villages. These are hugely exciting times for our constituency. We are one of the top ten target seats in the country for the Liberal Democrats. The Conservatives have a very slim majority of less than 2,500 votes over the Liberal Democrats here. Polls are showing the Liberal Democrats can win here with a big campaign. That means every vote matters. Our campaign really matters. With your help, I can win.
Lewes constituency has over 70,000 voters in over 40,000 houses, and we want to reach as many as possible so that people can see I’m listening and standing up for them.
With your donations, we will be able to ensure we deliver our full campaign plan with fully coordinated volunteers.
I'm standing because, like you, I don't want to be represented by a Conservative MP in Westminster for a minute longer.
About me
I am a long-term resident of Lewes constituency. I’ve lived here for 20 years, initially in Lewes where I was a councillor for Malling and the town centre, and more recently I call the town of Newhaven home. I am a councillor at Town, District and County levels in Newhaven and live there with my partner and two young children. I am deeply committed to our community; to ensuring there is prosperity for all, a decent education for our children, and our greenspaces, rivers and seas are protected. Let me share my track record:
1. Councillor in Lewes constituency since 2007: Over the years, I’ve immersed myself in our community, understanding its challenges and aspirations firsthand.
2. Leader of Lewes District Council (2020 and 2022): tackling the cost of living crisis, ensuring significant funding for play area improvements, gaining funding for the regeneration of Newhaven, supporting local businesses, and supporting biodiversity and our green spaces leading to tangible improvements in people’s lives.
3. People’s Vote Champion: As Campaign Director of the European Movement, I spearheaded the People’s Vote campaign alongside other pro-European organizations.
4. Education Advocate: I will continue to fight passionately for fully funded pupil premiums and against the government’s two-child benefits cap.
Together, we can continue building a better future for our community. Thank you!
