To help James deliver a new direction for Edinburgh Central by supporting our local campaign to win in May 2026.
Thank you for visiting my Crowdfunder page,
Generations of my family have lived in Edinburgh and I love this city. I want to be the MSP for Edinburgh Central because our communities, our city, and our country deserve better. Better MSPs, a better Government in Edinburgh and a better Scotland.
My experience as a key worker during the pandemic fuels my determination to advocate for those who are most vulnerable. This also confirmed to me that we need the right people - with the right motivations - to stand for political office.
Throughout my life I've witnessed the remarkable talent within our local communities. As an Edinburgh City Councillor, I work every day to improve the lives of my local residents. But I also see the impact of the cuts and wrong choices made by this SNP Government. This needs to change.
I want to fight for a better Scotland, and most of all to stand up for the residents of Edinburgh Central. I will be out each day listening to residents and giving voice to the issues you care about in Holyrood. My goal is to earn your trust as someone who can deliver and who can improve our local community.
If you feel as strongly as I do that our country needs to change, and that our communities need better representation, I kindly ask for you to contribute to my campaign and Scottish Labour’s goal of securing the change we need at the 2026 Scottish Parliament elections.
Best wishes,
James
Rules
Edinburgh Central CLP may contact you using the information you supply in order to discharge their legal responsibilities to ensure donations are from permissible sources. Donations to meet the costs of candidate election expenses are regulated by the Representation of the People Act 1983 and the Political Parties, Elections and Referendums Act 2000. By making a donation to this campaign I understand and accept the following:
- I am donating to the Edinburgh Central Constituency Labour Party.
- I must use my own funds to make a donation to the Labour Party.
- If I donate more than £500, checks will be made to ensure my name is listed on the UK electoral register (excluding the Channel Islands and the Isle of Man). Any single donations of £500 or under are not regulated donations under electoral law, and therefore the donor would not be required to be on the UK Electoral Register.
- If I donate more than £2,230 to a Constituency Labour Party or more than £11,180 to the national Labour Party in a calendar year, my name and the amount of the donation will be published on the Electoral Commission's website, although my home address will not be made public.
- If I am making a donation of more than £50 during the short campaign (the period after the election has been called), checks will be made to ensure my name is included on the UK electoral register (excluding the Isle of Man and Channel Islands which are not permissible sources). My name and the amount I have donated will be included in the candidate return submitted after the election.
- Donations are not tax-deductible.
- This information will be available for public inspection on request, although my home address will not be made public.
This donation facility is provided for individuals to make donations to the Edinburgh Central CLP. UK companies, limited liability partnerships, trade unions and unincorporated associations may also make donations. Please contact the CLP at [email protected] for more information.
*Permissibility checks will be carried out on individual donors in compliance with the rules laid out by the Electoral Commission on donations in election campaigns. You will be contacted by the Edinburgh Central Secretary to obtain this information. Donor details may be published.*
