We are inviting friends, family and customers to make a donation in lieu of flowers towards Jaime's unexpected funeral costs.
Dear friends, family and customers,
It is with great sadness that we share the passing of Jaime Foà, beloved brother, partner, friend and chef, who sadly died before his time on 12th June 2026 with metastatic pancreatic cancer.
Jaime brought joy to many through his cooking, warmth, kindness and generosity. He established The yellow house with Robert in 2003 and from the start was enthusiastic and passionate about excellent service and the quality of food served. Jaime delighted countless people with his breads, cakes, pastries, puddings and pizzas. His meringues and fudge are legendary!
He was a devoted brother to Talia and Melinda, a proud uncle to Esme, and a much-loved member of our community.
The Funeral
Jaime's passing came as a bolt from the blue. It was shocking in its suddenness. We have subsequently discovered that funeral costs are considerable, costs not provided for at this time when we are already under financial strain with operating the restaurant since the pandemic lockdowns and coping with subsequent increasing costs.
Jaime's funeral will be at Honor Oak Crematorium at 2pm on Friday 10th July, 2026 and will be about one hour. F.A.Albin & Sons are our local funeral directors and the funeral is expected to cost £4,900 which includes £1,196 for the crematorium fee.

To help ease this burden on Robert and Jaime's family, we are inviting friends, family and customers to contribute if they wish to this fundraiser, in lieu of flowers, to help with the funeral expenses.
You are welcome to join us at The yellow house after Jaime's funeral.
Pancraetic Cancer UK
Surplus funds raised, if any, will be donated in Jaime’s name to Pancreatic Cancer UK, a registered charity undertaking research, including into earlier detection of this terrible cancer.
No gift is too small and your support and kindness means so much to us.
With thanks and love, Talia, Melinda & Robert.
