Aim

I am doing a 10,000ft skydive with the aim of raising some funds for a charity very dear to me, Endometriosis South Coast.

On October 5th I will be taking on a skydive to raise some funds for Endometriosis South Coast! As someone with a bit of a fear of heights I couldnt think of a better cause to completely push all my limits for, and hope that some of you will be willing to donate to such a great cause.

Endometriosis is a condition where tissue similar to that of the lining of the uterus grows outside of the uterus causing debilitating pain, bloating, discomfort and a whole host of other symptoms which can make day to day life incredibly difficult and lead to further medical complications such as issues with fertility.

My personal story with endometriosis detailed a 5 year wait from my first doctors visit to my diagnosis (which is incredibly lucky compared to the norm), since which I have had 2 surgeries in order to remove as much of the tissue as possible to make life actually enjoyable again. Endometriosis is a chronic condition in which there is no magical cure, only treatment, which can take such a toll on general wellbeing and mental health. I myself have had years of 'medical gaslighting', being told I am too dramatic or that my symptoms could go away if I just 'got myself pregnant' (at the age of 17 no less) along with a host of other stories that make you lose a bit of hope with the condition.

Endometriosis South Coast as a charity offers just the most incredible amount of support to those of us with Endometriosis, and has given me a huge sense of community and trust that there are people who will listen to you. The charity has a multitude of events running to help anyone suffering, from support groups, to mindful movement sessions, to fun events like pub quizzes. They also provide huge amounts of information on managing symptoms, what to expect from surgeries and how to advocate for yourself as a patient with a voice. I for one have been so grateful for them and they have made my operations, procedures, scans and appointments so achievable and less scary, and I feel so much more in control of my own body and hold so much more knowledge than I thought possible.

I would be so grateful if anyone could spare some change to donate to such an amazing and inclusive charity, and sponsor me for doing probably the scariest thing I will do in my life!!
