Aim

To bring a powerful book to life that helps women move from survival to sovereignty through truth, healing, and lived experience.

Aim

I am raising funds to create, publish, and launch my book, 'It Took Me 52 Years to Get Here: From Survival to Sovereignty' a deeply personal and transformative account of my journey through life, healing, and self-discovery.

This book has not been written in isolation.

In many ways, it has been writing itself through me over the course of 52 yearrs... shaped by lived experiences, choices, challenges, and the lessons that came with them. When it came time to finally put pen to paper, I realised that this was not just my story to tell in isolation.

As a mother, my journey has also impacted my children.

Before I could fully commit to writing this book, I had to have honest and, at times, difficult conversations with them. There were parts of my life, and therefore parts of their lives... that needed to be acknowledged, understood, and processed together. Choices I had made had consequences, not only for me, but for them as well.

It took time. It took openness. It took accountability.

Over the course of a couple of years, we worked through those conversations with care, honesty, and a shared desire for understanding. It was important to me that they felt seen, heard, and respected before I moved forward with sharing my story more publicly.

Only once that process had taken place did I feel ready to write this book in full.

I am raising funds to bring this work into the world... not just as a personal story, but as a resource for other women navigating their own journeys. Women who may be holding untold stories, unprocessed experiences, or unanswered questions about their lives.

What is the Book About?

This book explores what it truly means to move from survival into sovereignty.

It is not a linear story, nor is it a neatly packaged narrative of transformation. It is layered, at times uncomfortable, and rooted in real-life experiences that have shaped me over the course of 52 years. It speaks to the parts of life we do not always name openly... the moments of pain, confusion, poor choices, resilience, and ultimately, growth.

Within these pages, I explore themes of healing, responsibility, identity, relationships, and self-worth. I reflect on the ways in which our early experiences... particularly our relationships with our parents... can shape how we show up in the world, often without our conscious awareness. I look at patterns, attachment, and the ways we can find ourselves repeating cycles until we choose to see them clearly.

This is not a book that offers quick fixes or surface-level solutions. Instead, it invites the reader into a deeper level of self-inquiry. It asks questions. It challenges perspectives. It offers insight, tools, and reflections that support a more conscious way of living.

At its core, this book is about taking Radical Responsibility for your life... not as a form of blame, but as a pathway to freedom. It is about recognising where you have power, even in the face of what has happened to you, and choosing to use that power to create something different.

It is, ultimately, a book about becoming.

Why I’ve Written This Book

I did not write this book simply because I wanted to be an author.

I wrote it because there came a point where I could no longer ignore the depth of what I had lived through, nor the responsibility I felt to make meaning of it.

For many years, I was navigating life without fully understanding the patterns I was caught in. There were moments of survival that I normalised, behaviours I did not question, and decisions that, in hindsight, were rooted in unresolved pain. Like many women, I was doing the best I could with what I knew... but there was always a sense that there had to be more.

Over time, through reflection, learning, and a willingness to look honestly at myself, things began to shift. Not overnight, and not without discomfort, but steadily. I began to understand that while I could not change my past, I could change how I related to it. I could take responsibility for my healing, my choices, and the direction of my life.

That shift changed everything.

Writing this book has been an extension of that process. It has required me to be honest, to revisit parts of my life that were not always easy to sit with, and to articulate lessons that have been hard-won.

I have written this book for the woman who knows there is more for her, even if she cannot yet fully see what that looks like.

For the woman who is tired of repeating the same cycles.

For the woman who is ready... or almost ready... to take her life into her own hands.

If this book can help even one woman feel seen, understood, and empowered to make a different choice, then it has done its job.

About Me

1773947311_sweet_mother_uk_-_purple_vest.jpeg

My name is Regina Grace Atsu.

I am a Black Woman, born and raised in London, with deep pride in my Nigerian heritage. I am also a mother of two adult children, and much of who I am today has been shaped not only by my own lived experiences, but by the responsibility and growth that comes with motherhood.

I am the founder of The Goddess Within – Limitless CIC, a community-led organisation dedicated to supporting women in their healing, growth, and personal development.

My work is rooted in lived experience, professional training, and a deep commitment to creating spaces where women can explore who they are beyond survival. Through women’s circles, workshops, retreats, events, and coaching, I support women in developing greater self-awareness, emotional resilience, and a stronger sense of personal sovereignty.

I am also the host of the Limitless Wombman Podcast, where I explore themes around relationships, communication, and the dynamics between women and men. Through open and honest conversations, the podcast creates space for deeper understanding, bridging gaps that often exist in how we relate to one another.

I hold an MSc in Social Work and have spent years working with individuals navigating complex life experiences. Alongside this, I have continued to develop my own understanding of human behaviour, relationships, and healing through both formal study and personal exploration.

Everything I offer... whether through my work or through this book... is grounded in honesty, reflection, and a belief that change is possible when we are willing to engage with ourselves at a deeper level.

This book is not separate from my work. It is an extension of it.
