Safe And Sound’s Vision Is To ALWAYS Be There When Young People Need Us And To Prevent Exploitation Wherever And However, We Can.
Our History:
Since 2002, we have been tackling child sexual exploitation by providing high quality tailored one-to-one support to victims and young people at risk in Derby and Derbyshire. From 2019, whilst maintaining our specialism in sexual exploitation, we have expanded our services to include all forms of exploitation. Our vital work ensures that individuals receive the support they need to move forwards in their lives.
Our Mission:
To transform the lives of children and young people in Derbyshire who are affected by child exploitation. We all have an idea of what being safe and sound is but the reality for many young people is very far from that. At Safe and Sound we are passionate that every child should live a life without exploitation but sadly still many are affected and far from safe. That’s why we will work to prevent, support and help rebuild lives to a point where we are no longer needed, no matter how long that takes.
Our Youth Work Fits Within Our Prevention And Recovery Priorities. Through Our Premises At Osmaston Community Hub In Derby We Are Able To Offer Activities Each Evening From Sport To Art To Music, plus homeworking groups.
We aim to provide youth activities for those supported by our one-to-one provision and to provide early diversionary activities for those identified at risk or living locally in the area.
Youth activities focus on building confidence/self-esteem and resilience alongside exploitation awareness sessions to young people within youth settings. We work with other youth provisions to enable our young people to try other sports and activities.
This work often helps in supporting our young people back into education and/or to move onto training/employment.
