Funding ‘Island’ a non-profit exhibition showcasing 20 early career artists at Enys House, Penryn, Cornwall.

- Enys Garden, St Gluvias, Penryn, TR10 9LB -
On the 14th June 2019, we are opening ‘Island’ a non-profit exhibition at Enys house near Penryn, Cornwall.
The exhibition will showcase the work of twenty emerging artists from around the UK.

We would like to ask for your help in raising a target of £2000 to support the project. There is no other external funding for the event other than the goodwill of the artists involved. Our goal is for Island to become a platform to promote artists at an early stage in their career, creating a community with long-lasting relationships and the chance to present their work to a new audience.
The current Enys House is a 19th-century property, with overwhelming delicate beauty and originality. Enys has an atmosphere of hazy natural light, naked walls and uncovered floorboards. We are excited to bring contemporary art to this unusual space. Island is our way of gifting an opportunity to emerging artists. Artist practices include; site-specific, painters, sculptures, installation artists, drawers and print-makers.
Island will be a three-day exhibition from Friday 14th until Sunday 16th June. There will be guest speakers on the Sunday who will lead a walk-through discussion of the artist’s work. We intend for this to promote conversation between artists and the public. Within a period of cuts to art education and funding, we believe it is an important and exciting time to raise the profile of accessible contemporary art.
