Island Life- Portraits of People & Place on Skye

Aim

Creating a Skye photo book capturing people & landscape—preserving stories, identity, and the deep connection between island life and place.

I’ve been accepted on a 6-month opportunity to study under Mark de Paola, an internationally recognised photographer.

It is a book publishing workshop to publish a photobook of visual storytelling. Through close mentorship, I will learn how to develop a body of work into a complied book of my Skye portraits.

With this opportunity, I plan to create a photographic monograph documenting life on the Isle of Skye—capturing both the landscape and the people who live there.

This project is about:

• Preserving stories and identities of island life
• Exploring the connection between people and place
• Creating an honest, intimate visual record of Skye today
