Aim: A multi functioning watering system will irrigate our green as opposed to watering small sections one at a time
Beechwood Bowls Club, founded in 1904, is the oldest Bowls Club in Newport. We run both Mens and Ladies Bowls teams. We play in The Monmouthshire Bowls League, Newport Bowls League, an over sixties league, South Mon Ladies and the Gwent Bowls League.
With the number of New members we have gained, and the increase in the number of fixtures, it has become imperative to install a water irrigation system, that allows our watering to be done early in the morning or late at night, by using a preselected time schedule. The rewards from this installation will enable our members to practice more, and encourage new members to the fold.
The Water Irrigation System allows us to move the watering jets to any part of the green enabling all of the green to get an equal share of water
Community impact
Beechwood Bowls are very keen to encourage new members, from all sections of the community to get involved in our ancient sport.. We are keen to involve ethnic groups who will derive so much pleasure from the game.. Green maintenance is a major issue with bowling greens, and the chance to maintain outside normal hours would be fantastic.
