IRFY'S HEALTH KITCHEN

Aim

A healthy food cafe, different from the usual burger joints and fast food which works with the local community, especially schools.

Here are my 3 key mission statements detailed further below: 

• Start a healthy cafe. Different from fast food and burger joints.
• Deliver healthy cooking sessions for young people and Inspire them to eat well. 
• Work with local businesses and communities, encouraging entrepreneurship and future chefs.

What is the vision?

The vision is to raise funds to support a healthy meal prep cafe business which will work very closely with local businesses, in particular with the local community and delivering after school cooking sessions. 

When I was in school no one taught me about healthy eating, how our diets can affect our general and mental wellbeing and the nutritional value and different food groups. 

As we live in such a fast paced environment, where parents/guardians are very busy. We stick on the oven, chuck a few chips in and some turkey twizzlers. Highly processed food has been linked to detrimental effects on health. 

What will young people be taught? 

There will be a huge focus is delivering after school sessions for children in slightly under privileged areas, the aim will be to demonstrate to children between the ages of 4 and 8, not only how to prepare food but also learn the importance of hygiene, food preparation and food waste. They will be shown how to chop fruit and vegetables and take part in making fun food which they can take home. They will learn about basic nutritional value, the different types of food groups and benefits. 

This will not just be your average cafe, it will serve the local area through a number of means and also encourage entrepreneurs and potential future chefs. 

What will the money be spent on?

All the money raised will be used to establish a base to start a healthy cafe, serving smoothies and freshly made food. This includes paying for the any leasehold, rent and any appliances. This establishment will also be used for cooking sessions with young people, where the cafe will be shut to thr general public. Funds will also be used for educational material and expenses for the groceries. 

Is donation compulsory? 

Donations are not compulsory. Hence, it is called a donation as no on is forced to make payment.  

You are in control of how much you would like to donate to support this idea.  Any donation no matter how large or small is greatly appreciated and welcome.
