Aim: Pickleball: bringing a fun new sport to St Agnes, available for all ages. We aim to install two pickleball courts at St Agnes Tennis Club.
Who are we?
Over the last 30 years, St Agnes Tennis Club has grown from 30 tennis club members to over 200. The club has expanded over the years by building four croquet lawns and introducing a now thriving table tennis club.
The club has been approached by a number of individuals, and members of the community, to ask if Pickleball could be introduced. Therefore, we are looking to raise funds to build two outdoor courts for all ages to enjoy alongside our wheelchair friendly clubhouse.
Why are we crowdfunding?
We are raising money for this project in order to introduce Pickleball to St Agnes Tennis Club. This project has been approved by Sport England who will match funds raised by crowdfunding if we reach £7,500.
All money raised will go towards building the Pickleball courts and purchasing the equipment required to make this sport a huge success.
Community impact
St Agnes Tennis Club are enthusiastic about community and encouraging others to partake in being active. Casual Pickleball sessions have been held, using throw down court lines, to assess the level of interest and it quickly became apparent that the Pickleball was hugely popular!
