Aim

to enable people to use their own refillable bottles and reject single-use plastic bottles.

Refill stations are places where you can refill your drinking bottle with fresh tap water. Our project is to set up as many refill stations in our town as we can, so that you will never have to buy another single-use plastic bottle of water ever again. So far, we have a network of over 70 refill stations across our town. 1634909577_snipped_refill_station_bhstory_22_10_21.png

It is especially important to install more refill stations along our seafront ‘Spring Water Way', so that we can prevent our beaches being littered with plastic bottles.  Spring Water Way is 19 kilometers long and already has  9 Refill Stations (see below for the list).

This fund raiser will help to pay for a Refill Station at Fishermen's Green near our Lifeboat Station. This will provide the final link in our Refill Stations along our part of Spring Water Way. We will publicise all our refill stations during our Eastbourne Spring Water Festival 22 ~ "Celebrating Water".

Please visit the Plastic Free Eastbourne website for further details about our campaign

We have a network of over 70 Refill Stations all over our town. This photo shows the staff at the Crown and Anchor ~ they are one of our Plastic Free Champions and also host a Refill Station ~ see our header photo.

This shot is of our Refill Eastbourne launch in our Enterprise Centre. We chose this spot because it was where our first refill station was set up in recent times.1634910680_snipped_refill_eastbourne_launch_22_10_21.png

Thank you to all who may participate in our cause here.

About Plastic Free Eastbourne:

We have many projects in Eastbourne: the unique "Adopt a Beach"  where all 94 of our beaches have been adopted by volunteers to keep our seafront clean.

Also, parks signs created by primary school pupils in 20 of our parks, with this slogan on them all "Thank you for keeping our park clean. Please take your litter home with you".

We are working on a lobbying campaign to do with  biodegradable plastics

We have thousands of volunteer participants who contribute enormously to our campaigns and activities. Our vision is to contribute to the town's ambition to become carbon neutral by 2030.
