Aim

We want to create a community ‘Inspirational Woodland Garden’ that individuals, families and community groups can all use.

Our Wellbeing Essentials five key projects created this year were the:

  • Roslin Rustie Walk around Roslin
  • Rusties (rustic garden ornaments) and local themed jigsaws created to help raise funds for our projects
  •  Rosslyn Rhinos petanque piste in Roslin Park
  •  Roslin Moat Pit memorial on Roslin Main Street
  •  Financial Essentials online course

For our sixth project next year we want to create an Inspirational Woodland Garden in Roslin, Midlothian and you can view a video of what will be included HERE.

Individuals, families and community groups can come together in one area to participate in a wide range of activities or just meet and relax. The garden will help people to move away from the insulation and isolation of the digital culture. Through greater socialising and interaction, developing an enjoyment of the outdoors, and participating in a range of fun activities suitable for a wide age range and it will strengthen community bonds and improve overall health and wellbeing.

The garden will be built on a piece of land being donated to us and when fully completed it will include: petanque piste, outdoor table tennis, gym equipment, short mat bowls, community space, regular community market, flower beds, food growing beds, model railway and ebike hire. It will be set around a woodland garden and walk pathway. All the money raised will be used towards creating some of these facilities.

Video - Santa Claus is Coming to Roslin

Mike and Jim from Rosslyn Rhinos pétanque club took part in the "Play all day on Rosslyn Rhinos' Piste - Dawn till Dusk Bouleathon" on Saturday 4th December at the piste in Roslin Park and raised additional funds. Many of the people who attended are featured in our video "Santa Clause is Coming to Roslin" as well as local businesses and organisations which you can view HERE
