Aim

The projects's aim is to reach and support more women with building confidence, providing a safe network of mentors and well-being resources

Inspiring Women Network is a grassroot community organisation run and led by a collective of diverse women from various backgrounds who want to improve and strengthen our community. Our aim is to bring about positive change in the lives of girls and women, to inspire and empower them to recognise and reach their full potential. Our programmes and activities bring together people who share a passion for promoting culture and diversity, women and equality, and social issues and justice to learn, share, and grow. For many, the Covid pandemic has been very challenging as it has compounded the barriers that many of the women we work with face such as social isolation, anxiety, depression. In response, we have adapted our model so we can reach, connect with, and support women by bringing our programmes online using social media and platforms such as Zoom, helping women and their families to stay connected with the community and to cope with these unprecedented times. This funding will allow us to: . 

• Reach women in their homes and in ways that are safe and inclusive
• Decrease strain on mental health 
• Increase sense of social connection with the community whilst physically distancing 
• Improve self-care and well-being skills 
• Decrease stress, anxiety, depression     
• Support connections and women's enterprises
• Share new, valuable skills                                                                                                                                                                                                                                        With the help of this fundraiser we can make sure that we can reach all our IWN members and every woman in Cornwall in their homes and in new ways that are safe and inclusive.                                                                                                          We have been recording podcasts, sharing videos about gardening, food workshops, presented a music festival, have evening book readings and an upcoming online book club. So we will continue with workshops and sessions that focus on self-care and self-development to promote positive mental and physical well-being, including crafts, gardening, cookery workshops, dance, yoga, as well as the book clubs already in place.                                                                                     We are aware however, that some of the women we would like to reach may experience financial obstacles in participating. To ensure that these women have equal access to these opportunities, we will support them by sending out craft kits, ingredients, books, or any material needed to participate. This group is run by women for women (and their community), so all our activities are delivered by local spectacular women. And we know there is so much skill out there right on our door step. So we want to support all women to feel encouraged and empowered to share their skills, knowledge, and expertise through our network, providing chances for new connections with our growing community of more than 1000 people who are following us online.                                                                              As a diverse group, we aim to reach every woman in Cornwall whose voice is not heard because of their background, race or cultural barriers. We want women from BAME community in Cornwall to feel more supported and encouraged to share culture, music, food knowledge that will make Cornwall a more inclusive place for diversity.
