Aim

INfurness Local by Furness Social Enterprise CIC is dedicated to increasing the visibility and promoting the use of local businesses.

In recent decades, it has become increasingly challenging for local businesses to trade successfully in a rapidly changing marketplace, often dominated by national chain stores, supermarkets, and worldwide online corporations that use huge budgets to dominate both online and high street trading spaces.

INfurness Local are committed to turning the tide and rebuilding local opportunities for Furness residents by recycling local investment in our communities.

This means using our surplus income to invest in local start-up businesses and funding training opportunities for locals who wish to pursue better jobs.

It is also our intention to rebuild community connection and engagement by sharing local events and making it easier for people to get together and build friendships to relieve anxiety and depression across the area.

This project closed unsuccessfully on 16th January 2026
