A PARTS SOURCING TOOL WHICH IS IN AN INDUSTRY WORTH MULTI TRILLIONS, HAVE FINANCIALS SHOWING MULTI MILLION PROFITS AT 0.1% OF CURRENT SPEND
100% OF THE PROFIT EACH YEAR WILL GO TO CHARITY AND GOOD CAUSES
I have worked in the engineering sector for 30 years plus and have found at times it has been a struggle finding the availability of machinery parts at short notice. With this in mind I have been thinking of a solution to resolve this issue, it has been an idea in my head for a while but now is the time to get the ball rolling and make it happen.
I came up with the idea when we as a company wanted a certain type of part. It was a special-order ceramic bearing which one of our customers needed straight away and time was of the essence as it was for a part within a machine that had failed. The lead time for the part was over 10 weeks from lead time to manufacture. We had numerous employees ringing and emailing the whole of the country/Europe. We eventually found one within 24 hours – but it was a lot of work.
From situations like the aforementioned I thought if only we could create an APP/website for the industry whereby buyers list the parts required and then sellers/retailers are prompted of the requirements and they can get back to the buyer with their pricing. The buyer will pay the checkout fees and postage. Buyers can also be sellers and vice versa, so lots of revenue streams.
Still to this day, we don’t have anything of this nature that we can search for industrial parts. If you can imagine an eBay or Amazon type platform but for industrial parts.
One example that will be on the platform is; if a buyer requests a quote for 10000 components to be manufactured - they simply upload the drawings and our users again bid on the project. There is a site that is currently doing this type but when you speak with their customers it is very expensive, and not guaranteed anything from it. With our site they only pay a fee when they win the job.
There is also lots of other revenue streams that can come from this one platform, forward auctions/reverse auctions etc.
Industrial spend worldwide is in the multi trillion range. I do have financials showing profits based on 0.1% of industry figures. The figures are mind blowing.
As mentioned before, having over 30 years of knowledge within the industry, I feel I’m well placed to take this forward.
Many thanks for reading
