Sound Inc's COVID-19 crowdfunder has been launched to ensure the survival of our amazing business.

INC IT FORWARD 

My name is Luke Scott, I run Sound Inc studios in Blaydon, Newcastle upon Tyne. We have been proudly serving the North East for over 12 years with our amazing musical facilities and superb skills with a kettle. Thank you for visiting our INC IT FORWARD crowdfunder page. The global COVID-19 pandemic has created a very uncertain landscape for millions of British small businesses, ourselves included. Sadly, Sound Inc wasn't able to access funding that most British business was able to at the beginning of the crisis. A new fund of half the original amount has been released, but there's still no guarantee that we will qualify. We've been proactive and have turned to a people powered Crowdfunding campaign to help us stay on top of inevitable monthly bills while also enabling us to adapt to a new normal.

The music industry has been hit particularly hard, and every level of our industry is reeling due to the knock on effects of social distancing and strict measures on personal contact and general hygiene. Touring, events and premises based industry (like music venues) have been hit the worst, with nearly every gig and festival in 2020 being rescheduled. Sound Inc is no exception, as we fall into the premises-based business category.

The biggest challenge we are going to face is effectively socially distancing our premises due to how small some of our communal areas are. Even when we do resume to a level of normal, there will still be massive stress and restrictions on cleaning, changeovers, and needing to run at 25% or 50% capacity to allow for safe use of the facilities. Our highest priority has always been the safety of our customers and our staff, and our new duty of care will require careful consideration and planning. As a studio, we feel that for the time being, it's best that we wait to see the true lay of the land before deciding how to proceed.

This means that for the time being, we are going to have to remain closed and explore other avenues of funding and commerce to ensure that we're ready to launch back into the action when this awful disease subsides to a level where more normal activity can resume.

We've been the pick of professionals like Years and Years for years and years (excuse the pun) and we intend to get back to offering our touring grade rehearsal studios as soon as we feel it is safe and viable.

INC it forward is our response to the covid crisis. We are going to be offering different tiers of donations and rewards, alongside the option for you to purchase brand new products which have been cultivated during lockdown. This fund is specifically aimed at helping a business  explore new avenues of income in the face of COVID-19 so that it may have more strings on it's metaphorical bow.

The goal is to reach our £5000 target so we are able to be match funded an additional £5000. While some of this money will help sustain us, some of it will be deployed in new directions to help us diversify our offerings and ultimately to help us survive the pandemic as a business.
