In memory of Andrew Hamish Duncan 2.6.71 - 4.2.23

• On Saturday, 4th February 2023 my beloved husband Andy took his own life. He was the kindest man, wonderful friend and inspirational step-father to my 2 children. I had the best times with Andy - so much fun, deep love and irreverent humour. We had many future plans.

Andy was an outstanding cyclist and motivational trainer to others. He started out in the prison service, spent many years in the police and finished as a funeral director. He was fastidious and conscientious - determined to help people become the best versions of themselves. This advocacy for others was central to his life.

Andy, aged 15, tragically lost his mother to cancer and his sister to suicide the following year. His father moved abroad shortly after. These dreadful traumas shaped his life's work of advocacy for others, but was no substitute for healing the vulnerable young boy who believed at some level that he was culpable for these terrible losses.

Andy and I shared fun, laughter and so, SO much love - but he was unable to escape the demons from his childhood loss. Please help me raise money for the incredible charity Body and Soul in Andy's name - any contribution, however small, is very gratefully received.
