We're still collecting donations

We aim to raise enough to cover the initial costs needed to produce this brand new play to the highest standard possible.

My name is Ross Scarfield. I am a writer, actor and musician embarking on my debut as a play-write.
Along with an incredible team of highly talented artists and performers we aim to produce our dark comedy play 'In Memoriam' for Brighton Fringe 2022. 21-22nd May at the Lantern Theatre. Synopsis below!
Alex Grey, funeral director and functioning alcoholic, has found himself suffering from a grave depression and sense of low self esteem. Haunted by the regrets of his past, he searches for understanding and fulfilment, finding support from his loyal colleague and brother Nathan, and Nathan’s witchy wife ‘Carol’.
Guided by a mysterious grave digger, Alex is pointed towards clues that the world he lives in is not what he thought it was.
This dark comedy introduces us to some weird and wonderful characters, whilst tackling some serious and sensitive subjects along the way. There is strong language throughout and some themes that may be unsuitable for children.
We hope that the sensitive subjects illustrated in the play like addiction, depression and grief will help to inspire our audiences to exercise their own thoughts and beliefs on our mental wellbeing, the importance of accepting support from our loved ones and our own individual beliefs on what meets us all after life and most importantly to make people laugh!
The reason we have chosen to crowd fund is to make sure our cast of 10 amazingly talented actors and our multi talented technician are paid fairly for the hard work required during one of the hardest times in history for the performing arts. We also aim to use any spare funding to pay for registration fees, venue hire, insurance, and for the fun part: props, costume and tech!
Without crowdfunding we will still have a production from ticket sales but with it we can take it to the next level and ensure our cast and crew have the financial support needed to thrive in what they do best.
After In Memoriam's Debut we hope to keep the ball rolling and approach larger venues throughout the south of England to spread our message to wider audiences, and in time aim to produce a T.V series production. With your help at this very early stage, we believe this can all be achieved!
