Improving RCT Weightlifting

We started RCT Weightlifting as there was a real demand for the sport in the Rhondda but few dedicate places to take it up. We've helped people from all ages, background and experiences get involved. From complete novices who have only wanted to join a new and welcoming community to those who have lifted to improve their health and wellbeing. Right the way through to some of the best age group weightlifters in Wales. 

Everyone has a home here and support one another. We are hoping that this investment will help bring even more people to the club and ensure those already here has an even better experience.

We are particularly passionate about empowering women to get involved in weightlifting and the club and showing that this is a sport for all levels and abilities.

Our team consists of 2 male coaches and 2 female coaches which makes us much more approachable for females looking to start at a facility that has female members of staff.

As a team our goal is to eliminate the stigma and intimidating factor that comes with starting at a new gym. Currently we have had past female members leave due to the lack of changing facilities. By raising the money we can finally build a shower and changing room area so that females can feel much safer when attending sessions. We have already put the word out that we are looking into this and have received positive feedback from ex members and new members wanting to come and train at our facility.
