Aim

We want to replace our oldest and slowest safety boat with one that can get to people in trouble in the water much quicker

Who are we?

Delph Sailing Club is a small volunteer sailing club on the outskirts of Bolton.

Why are we crowdfunding?

We cannot run organised activities at the club without adequate safety cover. Our oldest safety boat is no longer fit for purpose and it needs replacing. It can take a very long time to reach a casualty in the water and it doesn't comply with the RYA requirements for training new volunteer drivers.

How we’ll spend the money raised

We will spent the money raised to replace The Fletcher with a brand new safety boat that suits our needs. Any money raised above and beyond our target will be used to maintain our safety boat fleet.

Community impact

Having a modern safety boat not only increases safety, it make volunteers more likely to volunteer and allows our team of volunteer instructors to run more powerboat courses to improve the safety standards of the club for everyone.

All members get access to subsidized powerboat courses from age 12 and above and most of our cadets already have theirs. The more skilled powerboat drivers we have, the more sessions and activities we can run, and the more opportunities we have to get people out on the water safely.

How you can play your part

There are four simple ways to help us reach our target, and make this project a reality.

1. Make a pledge. Don’t delay if you’re going to support us because momentum is key to our success!

2. Spread the word. Share our project on your social media pages and tell the world to get behind us! The more people we reach, the more support we will get.

3. Offer rewards. Get involved if you are a local business by donating things we can offer to our supporters. We will give you a shout out!

4. Fundraise for us. If you want to run your own fundraiser – maybe a sponsored activity or similar – use the 'contact project' button at the top of our page to let us know. Setting up your own page only takes a few minutes and you won’t need any bank details. Just a fun idea!

5. We know this wont be easy. It is a lot of money to raise  but with your help and support, we know we can hit the target to replace our old and slow "Fletcher" with something that is faster and safer for all of us.

6. Any money raised above and beyond what we need to buy a new safety boat will be used to maintain our existing fleet of club boats and equipment.
