We'd like to make a short film about an elderly actress who survives a stroke and decides to fight relying on her memories of her life.
My name is Richard Hajdú. I am a Hungarian filmmaker based in London. To date I have turned 8 of my ideas into films. These are mostly shorts. There is a medium-length film among them, a documentary feature and a documentary series. They have screened at film festivals worldwide and some of them have won awards. One of the shorts won two awards at the Clermont-Ferrand International Short Film Festival which is the biggest short film festival in the world. One of my scripts was selected as a Quarter Finalist at the Big Break screenwriting competition organised by Final Draft. I was a participant of BAFTA’s Crew Programme. I have also pitched ideas at the Cannes International Film Festival and at the Clermont-Ferrand International Short Film Festival.
I'm Not Done is my new idea for a short film. I have completed the script and now looking for funding to be able to turn it into a film.
I’m Not Done is a short drama about Katie, a 70-year-old actress paralysed by a stroke. She is bedridden and being looked after in her home by two of her friends, Leila and Jane as both her husband and son have already died. One day Katie overhears Leila and Jane talking about her, pitying her and being afraid she will never recover. This makes her pull herself together, overcome her apathy and want to get better and re-learn basic functions. Nostalgia and memories will help Katie want to get better.
I’m Not Done is a hymn to human perseverance. Katie is an extremely strong character, a role model for all of us who has to prove her grit in a situation which is extreme, on the edge but, nonetheless, raw, real, true and immediate.
I need your help to be able to make I'm Not Done. Through this campaign I am looking to raise £ 3,000.
I am planning to spend the funds raised on:
Together we will make and present to the world a beautiful, strong and meaningful film about our strength and perseverance as human beings even in the most dire of situations life can throw at us.
I thank You all from the bottom of my heart.
