Igniting Community Spirit

Aim: To improve the lives and strengthen the community bonds that we have forged in the last 3 years, to continue to give what our residents want

Bushbury Spark was born out of necessity and vision. Three years ago, some of our committee members were already involved with arranging events for the area's people. In late 2023, the manager of the local resource centre, struggling with dwindling attendance and a lack of community engagement, sought the help of our dedicated committee members to breathe life back into the tired and unwelcoming space. These individuals, passionate about their community, took on the challenge with unwavering commitment. In their own time and at their own expense, they transformed the ground floor, turning a drab magnolia space into a warm and inviting area.
Through innovative ideas, thoughtful planning, and sheer determination, footfall at the centre surged from a mere 20 visits per week to over 140. The transformation was undeniable.

The centre had become a beacon of community spirit.  A difference of  ideas between the centre management and us led to tensions that ultimately caused the dedicated members to resign.
Refusing to let their hard work go to waste, and backed by the service users and volunteers, our committee, who had imagined, planned, and executed every event that revived the failing centre, decided to form Bushbury Spark. This new initiative was dedicated to the people of Bushbury, ensuring that the bonds that they had forged would continue for the betterment of the area, putting people first.We have a membership scheme with various benefits, and are happy to welcome all who wish to take part in our exciting journey. www.bushbury-spark.co.uk
