We are extending and refurbishing our club toilets, and converting the old kitchen into an accessible WC with baby changing facilities

by Danny Higgins in Ingatestone, Essex, United Kingdom

Who are we?

We are Ingatestone & Fryerning Cricket Club. We have 2 adult Saturday teams with an occasional 3rd Saturday friendly team, 5x youth teams, a new girls team, an indoor team and every now and again, we play friendlies on Sundays. We also have a large All Stars and Dynamos section on Thursday evenings.

Why are we crowdfunding?

Our increased membership over the last 4 years has meant we have outgrown our facilities. The increase in youth teams has been rapid but last year highlighted the need for better toilet facilities. We have already secured an ECB grant to improve the men’s and ladies toilets and Sport England have agreed to match fund up to £5000.

Together, our goal is to make the pavilion a club we can all use.

How we’ll spend the money raised

In addition to the men’s and ladies toilets, we are transforming our kitchen into an accessible toilet with baby changing facilities. With aspirations to have a disabled team soon, in addition to a younger membership and players with young children, we feel these facilities would be beneficial to so many people.

Community impact

This investment ensures everyone in our local community can use our facilities in the coming years, regardless of age or accessibility requirements. It means we can host more Kwik Cricket festivals for U7s and their families and continue to host All Stars and Dynamos for our younger members.
