IDP Group are supporting this important cause by taking part in the Tough Mudder Challenge. I (Jon Warner) have been privileged enough to work with Project 3580 for the past 7 years whether through raising money or painting schools. This is a cause very dear to my heart, now let me tell you a bit about it.
Project 3580. The story began with a young girl by the name of Aminata, she was 9 years old and aspired to be a lawyer, she was the 3580 child to die of Malaria that year. That has been our motivation ever since, to provide children with the opportunity to live a life we all say we'll live tomorrow. Ever since, 10's of 1000's of mosquito nets have been dispatched, reducing the rate of child mortality due to Malaria by at least 40%. Since then Project 3580 has worked tirelessly to enhance the lives of the community and empower the people within it. The school, which educates over 1000 children (that's 100-120 per classroom) has been refurbished and new classrooms have been built. The only clinic in the camp has received a face lift and is now better served to help people battle illness which is still rife throughout the camp. A new church roof was also built, much to the delight of their pastorate team, Samuel Danquah and Dennis Afotey. There is still so much more we can do to help this group of admirable people, and all it takes is a quick text.
On May 12th, myself and a few of my colleagues will be undertaking the rather daunting task of Tough Mudder, a 10 mile obstacle course, through bogs, electric fencing and climbing walls. If you don't think this sounds like me, then you would be correct, but why would you donate to something which is a walk in the park?
