We are Imperial College Chamber Choir (ICCC), founded in 1997, a group of young student singers united by a passion for choral music within a STEM university. Under the direction of Patrick Allies, our 31-strong ensemble has gone from strength to strength, performing in prestigious venues across the UK and Europe, including Santiago de Compostela and Helsinki Cathedral. In 2024, we were thrilled to make our debut broadcast of BBC Radio 3’s Choral Evensong, marking another milestone in the Choir's development.
We last recorded a CD in 2021 - ‘Perihelion’- a project that was a great success and meant a lot to the choir. Now, we are embarking on our most ambitious project yet: our first commercial CD, with a theme of "Home". This album will showcase our varied repertoire with pieces by Stephen Paulus, Galina Grigorjeva and David Hurd, and will also feature an original composition by one of our own members, Pallav Bagchi, whose music along with other members' has become an key part of our evensong services.
As a student-run ensemble, ICCC is more than just a choir; it is a close-knit community where singers challenge themselves musically, create memories and build lasting friendships. This CD is a chance for the choir to create a lasting record of their achievements this year, and for us to share a part of ICCC with you
Unfortunately, producing a professional album isn't a cheap endeavour. We need to raise £4000 to bring this project to fruition. To close the funding gap we are seeking your support through this Crowdfunder. The funds generated here will cover the cost of the CD production label, sound engineer, and recording venue.
We have put together a short video of the choir, presented by members of the choir, which includes footage of us singing Stephen Paulus’ beautiful ‘The Road Home’. We hope you will support us in bringing this project to life.
