To record and release my chilled-out, relaxing instrumental album of my favourite Christmas songs.
Christmas can be a hectic enough time as it is without the music feeling hectic too - how about some RELAXED and CHILLED-OUT instrumental versions of some classic Christmas songs? Something that actually suits Chestnut Roasting, or quietly reading a book, by an open fire?
Every year I scour the streaming services and CD sellers to try to find a holiday-season playlist or album, which I can stick on and just relax to. So I decided that such an album should exist, and when I couldn't find it, I began to try recording it myself!
I put a fire on (yes, really!) and picked up my electric guitar, and began to play some of my favourites, and it felt relaxing, cosy and warm. Add some Rhodes electric Piano and bass, and I oculd see that this could fit the bill.
I have no idea if this is the sort of thing that other people would like - it seems so obvious to me that not everyone wants Shakin Stevens and Slade powering out of their speakers every few songs. But sometimes, it's not the SONGS that are the problem, it's just that the vibe keeps changing.
I've been thinking about making this album for many years, but life and illness got in the way. Now I can't wait any longer, I have to let it out, haha!
