About the Exhibition

"I Am Witch ~ Tales from the Roundhouse" is an educational and experiential exhibition which explores the history of the Burning Times, how epigenetically inherited trauma from those times continues to affect us today, and how creativity, ceremony and sisterhood offer us pathways to healing.

Alongside the month-long exhibition is a programme of live performances and workshops all designed to help visitors explore the impacts of the Burning Times more deeply and to support personal healing and empowerment.

Visitors are invited to join us as we follow the red thread of our ancestral lineages weaving the creative expression of our inner healing journeys undertaken during the lockdowns of 2020/21. By working to transform the inherited destructive belief systems and behavioural patterns passed down through 20+ generations we are stepping through our fears of visibility to share our tales more publicly. Through this we hope to inspire and help others.

More than an art exhibition, the event is designed to be experiential and participatory. It's an ambitious project which aims to take visitors on an evocative journey through interactive installations, painting, film, music, performance, story-telling, sculpture and writing and which offers an opportunity for reflection, remembrance and reconnection. A number of us will be on hand each day to help guide and answer questions with the intention of providing a personal and welcoming experience.

Who are we?

Being so geographically spread means it's difficult to all be together in one place! Here are 22 of us meeting for the first time in July!

The Silver Spoons Collective is a diverse sisterhood of 33 UK-based  women working together to heal our own ancestral wounds from the Burning Times, clearing inherited trauma and dismantling our inner victim-perpetrator dynamics.

Our work is born out of Cali White's UK/Ireland pilgrimage in 2019, during which she gathered hundreds of women in 13 Full Moon Ceremonies and workshops to honour our "Witch" Ancestors. At the beginning of 2020 we came together as a group of 33 to explore more deeply how we each carried the ancestral wounds of the Burning Times and to heal them through creativity and sisterhood.

We set and worked with personal intentions to transform the destructive behavioural patterns which were negatively affecting our lives in some way. This required us to face our shadows; the "I'm not good enough," the "I'm too much," the playing small, the blankets of shame, the inner critic, the broken sisterhood; we have faced our feelings of pain, rage, and fear in order to build new ways of being, thinking and feeling and we've learnt to do it together.

We now want to share our work so that others may learn, heal and grow too, and together be part of transforming this historical tragedy that collectively we still carry in our blood and bones 20+ generations on. A few of us within the group are artists and writers, but most of us aren't - we're mothers, counsellors, nurses, teachers and therapists - but we're all innately creative and will share our experiences expressed in very different ways.

How much funding do we need?

Our aim is to cover our costs and donate any profit generated to registered NGO's working to eradicate the modern day Witch Hunts that are an increasing reality in parts of Africa and India.

We are looking to raise £26,000 in addition to the ticket monies which we will use in the following way:

  • £5,000 - 4 weeks Venue Hire - The Storey Institute have been incredibly generous in discounting over £10,000 off their list price!
  • £10,000 - Equipment, Materials and Tech support - We have some ambitious plans for making this an impactful and meaningful experience!
  • £8,000 - Printing of Guidebooks and Promo materials - They're going to be so beautiful!
  • £3,000 - PR support - we really want to take our message out to more people and need help to do that through a few press releases!

Anything raised over and above this amount, along with ticket sales will help go towards covering some of our time for staffing the Exhibition in January and to hopefully generating some profit, 50% of which will be donated to NGO's fighting witch-hunting in India or Africa.

Any support you can give us is received with deep gratitude and we'd appreciate your help in spreading the word. This work is for our Ancestors, the future generations and all of us here now!

With love,

Cali White, on behalf of The Silver Spoons Collective x
